Bigfoot Research Groups

Bigfoot is a mythical creature that has managed to capture the hearts and minds of millions of people from each generation. Though this man-beast wandering monster had become famous during the 1970’s; he continues to enchant people today. Millennials are intrigued by Bigfoot today just like Baby Boomers and Gen Xer’s were in the past. There are Bigfoot research groups which dedicate their time and resources to finding this legendary creature and proving his existence. There are two basic research groups which exist today, one is dedicated to finding Bigfoot’s body dead or alive and the other one is more focused on other means of proving Bigfoot’s existence.

The first type of research group is very impressive in its dedication and hard work towards proving the existence of Bigfoot. Many independent researchers go to great lengths to collect evidence of Bigfoot’s existence. Some people have created non-profit organizations such as the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization and others are just a single person dedicated to finding this creature. Searching for Bigfoot involves many hours spent in the woods conducting research; this could involve anything from camping out overnight to living in the woods for weeks at a time. Detailed research may involve hiking trails, taking photos, recording sounds, and collecting other pieces of physical evidence. It is important to note not all research groups are as dedicated to proving Bigfoot’s existence through body proof; some groups are more focused on other types of evidence.

Though finding Bigfoot’s body dead or alive would be the ultimate goal, physical evidence can still prove his existence. Physical evidence can include hair, droppings, photographs, videos and sounds or any other piece of material that could help prove Bigfoot’s existence. Though these are only basic research groups who dedicate their time and resources to finding Bigfoot they are still extremely important in the search for Bigfoot. These groups are very dedicated and hard working towards proving this creature’s existence and should be respected for their efforts towards investigating this man-beast. There are other research groups which are more focused on proving Bigfoot’s existence through other means of evidence. These groups entirely rely on non-physical evidence such as photographs and other ways of proving Bigfoot’s existence.

Though there is no physical proof of Bigfoot’s existence there is still hope that one day he will be found. There is still a possibility that one day we will find him and prove that he exists once and for all. Despite not having any conclusive physical (body) proof, we have managed to gather enough non-physical evidence proving that Bigfoot exists according to researchers. We will continue our search for Bigfoot with the hope that one day he will be found and prove his existence through non-physical means or a actual body. Bigfoot’s legend has become part of American folklore over the years and it is important not to forget the fact that we still hope Bigfoot will one day be found and proven real.

The Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO)

The Bigfoot Field Research Organization was started in 1995. They are one of the premiere Bigfoot hunting groups who uses valid scientific methods to prove Bigfoot is alive and well in North America. The organization utilizes provable facts that validate Bigfoot’s existence. They search for bigfoot all over the world. Over the years they have found items such as hair, tracks and tree damage that could only be made by a “Bigfoot” like man-beast.

Iowa Bigfoot Research Group – IBRG International

The Iowa Bigfoot Research Group – IBRG International is headed by Dr. Barry White. White is an anthropologist who has studied at East Carolina University. He established the IBRG International back in 1978 when Bigfoot was really popular. Dr. White is also known for his Ohio Howl which is a howl that is used by animals in the wild. The doctor witnessed 120 sightings of Bigfoot during his lifetime. His work with the IBRG International helped him to discover the Adirondack Ape in 1991. The Iowa Bigfoot Research Group might be headed by Dr. White, but he encourages Bigfoot research and shared experiences by his members.

North American Wood Ape Conservancy (NAWAC)

The North American Wood Ape Conservancy primary goal is to find, document and protect Bigfoot creatures. They also write professional papers that makes Bigfoot a valid scientific creature and not just some scary story that people tell around campfires. The group is made up of volunteers and they are non-profit organization. The organization takes their work very serious. They trek the Bigfoot through various methods and practices that gives them the best chance to find and document the man-ape. They are interested in helping to preserve the habitat of the possible bigfoot and also searching for good possibilities of capturing a bigfoot. They plan on doing this by surveying the environment, studying sightings, and looking through historical data to see where some of these creatures might be found.

VBRO – Virginia Bigfoot Research Organization

The Virginia Bigfoot Research Organization utilizes scientific principles and shamanism to locate, document and learn about bigfoot. The shamanistic approach is very unique to this undertaking. Apparently, shamanism will help to explain where Bigfoot comes from and how this creature can constantly evade capture by people. The group takes their work serious and uses everything from updated recording and tracking technology to find Sasquatch. They also use various elements from shamanism to encounter this creature.

Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization

Normally, Bigfoot would be seen in the Pacific Northwest part of the United States. However, the creature has been seen in Southwest Canada and in regions within Northeastern America. Still, Bigfoot has managed to get around. In the southern region of the United States, people also see Bigfoot. The Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization (GCBRO) deals with Bigfoot sightings that take place along the southern coastal regions. States such as Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida are covered by the GCBRO. Texas is another area covered by the GCBRO. This organization was founded in 1997 by Bobby Hamilton. Jim Lansdale is also a co-founder of the organization. The group works to bring more validity and truth of Bigfoots existence in the southern regions of the U.S. The group uses polygraph tests for any member that has claimed to see Bigfoot. Since these tests are very reliable, they generally help to give credibility to Bigfoot sightings by members of this organization.

Sasquatch Investigations Of The Rockies

Sasquatch is an alternative name for Bigfoot. The Sasquatch investigators of the Rockies are located in Colorado. They focus exclusively on Bigfoot occurrences that take place within the state. The group makes it a point to search for Bigfoot all year round. They believe that a consistent monitoring effort will provide them with a greater ability to find and expose Bigfoot. Sasquatch Investigators of the Rockies is also very committed to respecting and establishing a close bond with Bigfoot. They want to make sure that the creature is well cared for and protected.

Alberta Sasquatch Organization

The Alberta Sasquatch Organization focuses on the province of Alberta, Canada. The group doesn’t take one philosophy with the discovery of Bigfoot. They take different approaches with locating and recording Bigfoot. They primarily want people to file reports of their sightings with the organization. They will then send the reports to other credible Bigfoot researchers who will them figure out the best way to use the information. The Alberta Sasquatch Organization carries out its mission by having its members stay out in the field to find more proof of Bigfoot’s existence.

  • Bigfoot is also known as Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch or Yeren which is translated from Chinese to mean Bigfoot.
